follow fashion from the start to the show with Charlotte Taylor!

sometimes my posts follow news items featured on StyleBubble like a line of ants straggling behind a line of breadcrumbs, but i'm not sorry. Miz Bubble is a star blogger because she is consistently up to date, covers off-stream topics, accurate, and relevant. gee!
i read her post this morning on recent CSM-graduate Charlotte Taylor's blogging endeavors and knew that i had to blog about it, at least for my sake (sometimes when i don't blog about something, i forget it; criminal.). Charlotte Taylor is attempting to chronicle her creation of a fashion line for the next LFW from the ground up - finding seamstresses, sponsorship, zippers, fabric swatches, and inspiration. she shows pictures of her mannequins and studio. for anyone who, like me, ultimately sees the amazing end products displayed at fashion shows without a single idea of what goes on behind the curtain - like an audience member at a casino magic show - this is fascinating.
when you know how much work goes into something, you begin to appreciate it more and in different ways. Taylor is letting us all take a peek into that - she says that finding similarly chronicled experiences before she began her own work would have been immensely beneficial.
no doubt. this small, wee interested person just added Taylor's blog to her RSS feed.

TULLE is having an ongoing 50% off sale

just to remind you. if you need reminding. if you know TULLE.

i seriously recommend it. i have exactly one piece of clothing from TULLE - in fact, i thrifted it and it's missing a button, so i need to fix that - a cropped, 3/4 puffed sleeve black blazer, with a quilted texture, and it's awesome. i paid $14 for it but i gladly would have paid $40+ had i had that much money.

STOP!

it's BLANCHETT TIME!

Barneys NY Christmas catalogue - nothing you can afford!

Jezebel does a funny rundown of the Barneys Christmas catalogue, which includes a $125 Kiki de Montparnasse silk blindfold, $395 candles, a $165 'crocodile clusterfuck' limited edition Lacoste polo (i won't lie, i kind of want one), and a $1,990 hair tie.
but you know, that's what Christmas catalogues are for: visions of hilarious levels of frivolous expenditure. for 99.5% of the world, anyway.
remember when Neiman Marcus sold personalized two-person submarines? can't wait to get their catalogue in the mail.

Prada SS10

in general i have a lot of hate for jumpsuits, because they look very unattractive off the runway, or off the hides of the Fash Pack. celebrities may also fall into this category. they can't be worn by normal people, unless, as a normal person, you are very thin, or have very few curves--or if you are a man?

[style du monde]

these are both Prada, i think from SS08. and while i still don't recommend jumpsuits for everyone, much less everyman (just AnOther Man? (sorry)) (can you imagine Hugh Jackman in this jumpsuit?) these two look really good in them.
of course, the former is a fashion blogger, the latter is Joel Bough, a model. thesis still stands.
and now i'm going to be late for work.

Uniqlo HEATTECH online store: go!

Uniqlo uses crazy Japanese technology - seven kinds, in fact - to make these tees, long-sleeves, camis, and turtlenecks insanely warm and insulating. AND they're ON SALE, and ON SALE ONLINE. Uniqlo never sells online. so DO IT!
